Carolina Furnished Rentals (CFR) provides specialized housing for the medical community. We offer furnished single-family homes with practical amenities that can support rest, privacy, and demanding shift-work routines.

- Quiet Neighborhoods: We explicitly screen for residential areas away from construction zones and university “party” districts.
Do you have housing near the major hospitals?
Yes. We have strategic inventory near the Triangle’s “Big Three”:
- Duke University Hospital / Durham VA: Some Durham homes, including Omah St, provide practical road access. Check the route to your assigned parking area at your shift time.
- WakeMed (Raleigh & Cary): Our Raleigh and Cary inventory offers short commutes to both the New Bern Ave and Kildaire Farm campuses.
- UNC Medical Center: Accessible from our South Durham and Chapel Hill-adjacent properties.

How can a solo traveler evaluate a home for late shifts?
Personal comfort and neighborhood conditions vary, so CFR does not make safety guarantees.
Review the exact address and route at your expected shift time, consult current public sources, and ask us which security and lighting features are documented for the specific home.
Stipend Economics
How does renting from CFR help maximize my stipend?
We offer more value than a hotel or agency placement.
- The Math: Agency-placed housing often takes a huge chunk of your pay package. By taking the full housing stipend and booking your own CFR rental, you often secure a whole house for the price of a corporate apartment.
- One-Bill Simplicity: Furnishings and standard utilities are already in place, so you can compare the full housing cost without arranging separate household accounts.
Can a stay cover a 13-week contract?
Yes. The Vacation Rental Agreement renews every 30 days so the stay can align with a standard travel contract, subject to availability.
If your contract is extended, we offer current guests the first opportunity to renew for another 30 days so they can remain in the same home.

Can I bring my dog?
Yes. We know your dog is your emotional support on the road.
The CFR Difference: Hotels have weight limits. Apartments have breed restrictions and elevators. Our homes have fenced yards. You can open the back door and let your dog out in the morning while you make coffee—no leash required.
