Insurance & ALE
A Soft Landing When You Need It Most
Losing the use of your home due to a fire, flood, or storm is one of the most stressful events a family can endure. Suddenly, you are managing contractors, arguing with adjusters, and trying to keep your children’s lives normal—all while living out of a suitcase.
Carolina Furnished Rentals (CFR) specializes in Emergency Displacement Housing. We bridge the gap between the disaster and the move-back date. We provide move-in ready homes that allow you to cook dinner, do laundry, and let the dog out in the backyard, giving you the stability to focus on rebuilding.
Navigating Your Insurance Claim (ALE)
Do you work with "Loss of Use" or ALE coverage?
Yes. We are experienced in working with Additional Living Expenses (ALE) policies.
Most homeowners’ insurance policies cover the cost of temporary housing that maintains your “standard of living.” A cramped hotel room rarely meets that standard for more than a few days. Our single-family homes provide the square footage and amenities adjusters approve for long-term displacement.
How does billing work for insurance claims?
We offer itemized, adjuster-friendly billing.
We can provide itemized housing documentation for you, your adjuster, or a placement company to review. The insurer alone determines coverage and reimbursement.
- Direct Billing: For some longer stays, we can coordinate directly with placement agencies (like ALE Solutions or CRS) if they are handling your claim.
- Flexibility: If you are paying upfront for reimbursement, our consolidated invoice covers rent, utilities, and furniture rental in one line item, simplifying your paperwork.
The Timeline Reality
What if my contractor delays the repairs?
We allow flexible extensions.
Construction timelines are unpredictable. A “3-month repair” often turns into 5 months due to permit delays or supply chain issues.
The CFR Promise: We do not force you into a rigid 6-month commitment. You can book an initial term and extend based on the stay option and availability. Longer arrangements renew every 30 days, with 15 days’ notice before vacating.
Can we move in immediately?
Yes. Our homes are “Instant Book” ready.
If you are standing in your driveway with the fire marshal and need a place to sleep tonight or tomorrow, we can facilitate rapid move-ins with digital Vacation Rental Agreement signing and keyless entry codes.
Why a Home is Better Than a Hotel
Why choose a home over an extended-stay hotel?

The Kitchen & Diet
Eating restaurant food for 4 months is unhealthy and expensive. Our homes feature full residential kitchens. You get a full-sized refrigerator, oven, dishwasher, and all the cookware needed to make your family’s favorite meals. This helps restore a sense of routine for your children.
The Pet Situation
Hotels often have weight limits (e.g., “Dogs under 40 lbs”) or breed restrictions. We welcome large dogs. Most of our inventory (such as Mint Hill Dr in Cary or Morris Branch Ct) features fenced yards. Confirm the listing, inspect the enclosure on arrival, and supervise pets whenever they are outside.
School Stability
You need to keep your kids in their current school district. We cover the map. Whether you need to be in the Apex Friendship district, near Leesville Road High in Raleigh, or close to Jordan High in Durham, we likely have a property within a short drive of your school bus route.
