Booking & stays
How do I book a stay?
You can submit a request through our website or call us at 919-736-6417. We aim to respond within one business day.
Do you require background checks?
We require identity verification using a government-issued ID. Some properties also require background screening based on the homeowner's requirements; when it applies, we explain it before booking.
What is the minimum stay requirement?
We primarily offer Extended Stays (30+ days), but we also have specific Flex-Week (7+ day) options available for short-term needs. Longer arrangements use a Vacation Rental Agreement that renews every 30 days.
Do I need to sign a lease?
All stays require a signed Vacation Rental Agreement. Longer arrangements renew every 30 days, and guests provide 15 days' notice before vacating.
How do payments work for short-term stays?
For stays starting in less than 30 days, full payment is due at the time of booking.
Why is the weekly rate different from the monthly rate?
Weekly rates reflect the additional vacancy risk, turnover work, and administration that come with shorter bookings. Longer stays usually have a lower nightly rate because they provide more consistent occupancy.
Are utilities included in the monthly price?
Yes, water, electricity, gas (if applicable), and internet are all included in your rental rate.
Do you accept travel nurse housing stipends?
Yes. Many nurses prefer to take their stipend and book with us directly to save money compared to agency-placed housing.
Do your bedrooms have blackout curtains?
We understand the needs of shift workers. Some properties include blackout curtains; confirm that amenity for the exact home before booking.
Is the internet fast enough for video conferencing?
We document high-speed internet and provider details when confirmed for a specific home. Ask us to verify the connection before a bandwidth-sensitive stay.
Is cleaning service included during my stay?
A deep clean is performed before arrival and after departure. Mid-stay cleaning is available upon request for an additional fee.
Can I extend my stay if my home repairs take longer?
Yes. Longer arrangements renew every 30 days, subject to availability. We normally contact you about 17 days before the current agreement period ends to confirm whether you need another 30 days.
Homes & amenities
What is included in the rent?
Our rates are all-inclusive. One bill covers rent, all utilities (water, power, gas), high-speed Wi-Fi, streaming services, furnishings, linens, kitchenware, and lawn care.
Do you offer high-speed internet?
Yes, reliable high-speed Wi-Fi is a standard amenity in all our homes, suitable for remote work and streaming.
What is Loss of Use coverage?
Loss of Use coverage helps pay for your living expenses, such as temporary housing, when your home is uninhabitable due to a covered loss.
What do I need to do before checking out?
We ask that you remove trash, start a load of towels (optional), return items to their original place, and lock the home. A full deep clean is handled by our team.
Do you offer relocation advice?
Yes! Our co-founder is a licensed real estate broker and can help you test drive neighborhoods or assist with your permanent home search.
Pets
Are there any hidden fees?
We value transparency. You will see the rent, cleaning fee, and any pet fees before signing. There are no surprise utility bills.
Are your properties pet-friendly?
Yes, most of our homes are pet-friendly. We generally accept Dogs Only with a pet fee. Cats are typically not allowed unless you have specific written approval from the owner.
Do the homes have fenced yards?
Many of our properties feature fenced yards, which is a major advantage for pet owners compared to apartment living. You can filter for this amenity on our site.
Why should I choose a home over a hotel for my insurance stay?
Our homes offer full kitchens, separate bedrooms, private yards, and pet-friendly policies, providing normalcy and stability that a hotel room cannot match.
Insurance & relocation
What is Carolina Furnished Rentals (CFR)?
CFR provides fully furnished, all-inclusive temporary housing for relocations, insurance stays, and corporate travel across North Carolina.
Do you work with insurance companies?
Yes. We regularly partner with adjusters and temporary housing agencies to assist families displaced by fire, flood, or storm damage.
What is ALE (Additional Living Expenses)?
ALE covers the extra costs of living away from home, such as rent specifically. We can help you understand how to maximize this to secure a comfortable home.
Can you bill my insurance adjuster directly?
We often work directly with housing agencies and understand the ALE process to streamline billing where applicable.
Can I move in immediately for insurance displacement?
We understand the urgency of displacement. Contact us for our Immediate Move-In availability.
Property owners
What is the minimum age to book?
The primary guest must be at least 21 years old to reserve a property.
Can I view the property before booking?
Our website features high-quality photography and detailed descriptions. Due to guest occupancy, physical tours are not always possible, but we can answer specific questions about layout and amenities.
How does the application process work?
After your inquiry, we confirm availability and pricing, verify your government-issued ID, and send the Vacation Rental Agreement via DocuSign. If a particular property requires background screening, we explain that requirement separately before booking.
Is a security deposit required?
Security deposits are taken on a case-by-case basis depending on the specific property and length of stay.
Is lawn care provided?
Yes, we handle lawn care and trash service so you don't have to worry about maintenance.
What if I have a maintenance issue?
We have an in-house maintenance team and a network of trusted contractors. You can report issues via text or email, and we aim to respond within 24 hours (sooner for emergencies).
