Neighborhoods
Durham.
Known as the “City of Medicine,” Durham is home to Duke University Hospital and the Durham VA.
Staying in Durham minimizes commute times after long shifts.

Cary or Apex.
Consistently ranked as some of the safest cities in America, these suburbs offer top-rated Wake County public schools, fenced yards, and a quieter, family-oriented atmosphere.

Raleigh (North Hills/ITB).
If you want walkability, high-end dining, and proximity to downtown tech offices (Red Hat, Citrix) or North Raleigh, this is the executive hub.

Holly Springs & Fuquay-Varina.
Located south of Raleigh, this area is the epicenter of the new biomanufacturing boom (Amgen, CSL Seqirus, Fujifilm).
It offers newer construction homes and easy access to these specific campuses.

Research Triangle Park is a massive business district located centrally between Raleigh and Durham.
For Short Commutes: Look for housing in Morrisville, Cary, or South Durham. These locations place you within 10–15 minutes of major employers like Cisco, IBM, and GlaxoSmithKline.
Traffic Note: Commuting from North Raleigh or Holly Springs to RTP can take 30–45+ minutes during rush hour.
